About the Artist
Jeanette, a native of the White Mountains of New Hampshire, is a wildlife artist whose watercolor paintings are inspired by nature, particularly the mountainous and forested areas surrounding her home in northern New Hampshire. Growing up in this area, she spent a great deal of time in the woods observing and drawing nature. It was during this formative period when she began developing her artistic skills. She is a self-taught artist; however, as an adult she took formal drawing instructions from the Manchester Institute of Arts and at Studio 216 in Manchester, New Hampshire.
She specializes in watercolor paintings of animals and nature, which reflect a distinct and original style not commonly found with this medium. Her meticulous attention to detail is one of the hallmarks of her work. While she concentrates on close up, intimate portraits of animals, the background is no less interesting or compelling.
Her work has been accepted to the "Art of the Animal Kingdom" and the "Adirondack National Exhibition of American Watercolors", two prestigious national art exhibitions in New England and also hangs in private collections throughout New England and beyond. She has also won several awards at numerous juried art exhibitions over the past 15 years. She is a member of the New Hampshire Art Association, Northern Vermont Artist Association and an Associate Member of the Society of Animal Artists.
